Sound familiar?
You didn't plan to need storage. Then life happened.
The house sold faster than the new one closed. The kid moved home. The business outgrew the garage, then outgrew the spare room, and now there are pallets in the dining room. Or the HOA sent a second letter about the camper in the driveway.
So you start looking, and it's worse than you expected. The rate that looked good online turns into an administrative fee, a mandatory insurance policy, and a lock you have to buy at the counter. The gate code works but nobody answers the phone. The place is run from a call center in another state and the manager, if there is one, is a kiosk.
The problem was never that you needed storage. It's that most storage companies treat a hard month in your life as an opportunity to add line items.
We've been on Ryder Lane for over 30 years, and we've never operated that way. The rate is the rate. Someone is here six days a week. That's the whole pitch.

The things that actually matter after month one
Anyone can advertise a low rate. These are the differences you notice in month six.
No tenant insurance required
Most storage companies make you buy their insurance policy or show proof of your own before you get the keys. We don't. Your unit, your call.
No administrative fees
The price on the unit is the price you pay. No setup fee, no admin fee, no lock you're forced to buy at the counter.
A manager who's actually here
Someone is on site Monday through Saturday. Not a call center three states away, not a kiosk. Reviewers name our staff by name.
Pest control included
Regular treatment and walk-throughs across the whole property, at no extra charge. It's the difference between storage and storage you trust.

Getting started
Reserve online, then we'll talk
We reserve rather than rent online on purpose — it means a real conversation before anyone gets a gate code.
Pick your size
Use the size guide or just call and describe what you've got. We'll tell you honestly which unit fits — including when a smaller one is enough.
Reserve it online
Takes a couple of minutes and holds the unit. Reserve a unit, or call (864) 224-5389 and we'll do it over the phone.
We confirm, then you move in
Someone from the office follows up to confirm the reservation and set a time. Then you get your gate code, and the gate's open 6 AM to 10 PM.

Questions
The things people ask us most
How much does a storage unit cost in Anderson, SC?
Storage units at Ryder Mini Storage start at $50 a month for a 5×10, with 10×10 units at $65 and 10×20 units at $130. Those are the real, current rates — the same numbers you'll see when you go to reserve, with no administrative fee added at signup and no required insurance purchase.
We're also running our move-in offer right now: second month free on move-in.
Do I have to buy insurance to rent a unit?
No. Ryder Mini Storage does not require tenant insurance, and we don't sell a policy you're obligated to buy.
This is unusual. Most storage operators — especially the national chains — either require you to purchase their protection plan or show proof of a homeowner's or renter's policy before they'll hand over the keys. We don't do either. If you want your belongings covered, check whether your existing renter's or homeowner's policy already extends to off-site storage; many do.
Are there any hidden fees or deposits?
No. The monthly rate you see is what you pay — there's no administrative fee, no setup fee, and no security deposit.
You're also not required to buy a lock from us at the counter. Bring your own disc lock, or pick one up wherever you like.
What size storage unit do I need?
Most people renting a one-bedroom apartment's worth of belongings need a 10×10, which holds a couch, a bed, a kitchen table, and roughly fifteen boxes.
Below that, a 5×10 handles a dorm room or studio. Above it, a 10×15 covers a two to three bedroom house, and a 10×20 fits a three-bedroom home or a car plus household goods. If you're between two sizes, size up — the difference in rent is smaller than the cost of a second trip. Our size guide walks through each one, or call and describe what you've got and we'll tell you honestly.
What are your gate access hours?
The gate is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day, including Sundays.
Business account holders can arrange 24-hour access. The office is staffed Monday through Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to noon, so if you need a person rather than a gate code, those are the hours to come by.
Can I drive right up to my storage unit?
Yes. Every self storage unit at Ryder is drive-up access with a roll-up door, so you can back a vehicle or trailer directly to the door and unload.
There are no elevators, no interior corridors, and no hauling things across a building. For anyone moving appliances or furniture without a crew, this is the single biggest difference between an easy afternoon and a miserable one.
Come see it before you commit
Drive out, look at the unit, ask whatever you want. No pressure and no hard sell — that's not how a business lasts this long in a town this size.
